Joseph R. Pelosi, 60, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, October 3, 2024 at RI Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Donna M. (Santilli) Pelosi. He was the son of Sheila (Dinucci) Jones and the late Joseph John Pelosi. Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children and grandchildren; daughter Brittney and her husband Alessandro Venditti and their children Luciana, Valentina and Alessandro,Jr., daughter Alexandria and her husband Bryan Souza and their children Camella, Simon and Melania, son Joseph R. Pelosi, Jr. and his wife Rebecca and their son Gianni. He was the brother of David Pelosi and wife Cindy, Stephen Pelosi, Michele Pelosi and Matthew Pelosi and wife Wendy.
While attending high school he met his lifetime best friend Andrew Lombardi. Joe graduated high school in ‘81 where he earned a full athletic scholarship playing football to attend URI. During these years at URI he was part of the Sigma Chi Fraternity where he was the treasurer, a dedicated student and talented athlete. In the year of 1982 he met his soul mate, Donna.
Joe was a Financial Planner and business advisor. He spent the young years of his career as the director of global finance for large corporations. During this time, he traveled the world seeing various states and countries from California to Shang Hai, and all through Europe. Later on in his middle age life he made the decision to purchase his own financial planning business. He loved his career and his clients however his family always came first he not only attended he passionately coached every little league possible. This remained true as all three children moved through high school and college, he never missed a game or recital.
His favorite hobby was playing poker at the Italian Rosario Club on Friday nights. He loved to drive his boat around Narragansett and he enjoyed time spent on the dock with his wife, friends and family. Time spent at Narragansett beach as close to the water as possible watching the sun come up was well spent. Magical vacations with his wife, children and grandchildren to Disney World is something he loved and longed for more. Cooking and people enjoying his food was something that brought him great happiness. He was the most passionate about guiding his children to be successful in life. He truly enjoyed providing consulting advice to anyone who owned a business. On Sundays the television was strictly for football games and that is the only time he was unavailable for consulting.
Joe and his family are extremely grateful for his medical team. The whole team of nurses at Dana Faber took such great care of him. We are especially grateful for Dr. Robert’s for giving us the last two years. His wish was not for people to cry about his death but to celebrate the great joy of his life.
