Joseph A. Mako, Jr., 71, of Providence passed away Friday March 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Ferreira) Mako for
48 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Joann Mako.
Joseph was a United States Marine Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a devoted sports fan throughout his life. In addition to the Boston Bruins and Red Sox, he also
loved boxing and rarely missed a Rhode Island Reds hockey game back in the 60s and 70s.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children; Heather Muccio of Warwick, RI,
Anthony Mako of Miami, FL, and Joseph Mako, lll of Bellingham, MA. He was the sister of Faith Hebert and the late Moreen Ventura. He leaves behind many nieces and
nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI
Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION Wednesday 5-7 p.m. at “WOODLAWN”. Social distancing will be observed and masks must be worn. In lieu of flowers memorial
