Joseph Dugan Obituary

Joseph Thomas Dugan, 97, of Cranston, passed away November 27, 2025 at the West Shore Health Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Theresa (Paolino) Dugan.

Born April 14, 1928, in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Evelyn (Miller) Dugan.

Mr. Dugan proudly served with the US Navy just after the end of WWII.

Joe loved everyone, dancing and life itself. he was an avid bowler and golfer, in fact he met his late wife while bowling. Joe was a truck driver for many years at Tower Iron and later delivered for Textile Motors Express in Pawtucket.

He leaves his children, Larry Dugan and his significant other, Pamela Duff of Sheridan, IN, Linda Highsmith of Georgia, Catherine Greco and her husband Robert, of Maricopa, AZ, Paula Iannotti of West Warwick, Jo-Ann Casey and her husband Charles, of Warwick, and Michael Dugan and his wife Linda of Cranston; 8 grandchildren, Melissa, Uriah, Joey, Kristy, Bobby, Lauren, Rachel, and Joshua; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was the brother of Margaret “Peggy” Bilodeau, Diane Jourdain, the late Thomas, Edward, Francis, James and Howard Dugan, and the late Kay Bronson.

Visitation will take place Friday, Dec. 5, from 10am until 11am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, where a funeral service will begin at 11am. Military honors and burial will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
