The name Joseph is of Hebrew origin, translating to “God shall add”, a name truly fitting for a man who left an impact like Joseph did.
Joseph was more than a name to those around him. He was energy, love, chaos, and freedom all in one soul. With pain words cannot hold, we announce the passing of Joseph R. Baez. A man who may have been imperfect yet nevertheless had a heart of gold.
Joseph had a laugh that was unforgettably contagious. He was a man of spontaneity. When you least expected him, he was there, along with the rev of his bike.
Joseph was born on June 13, 1997, in Bronx, New York, to Josephine Reynoso and Rafael Baez. His passion for adventure started early. Whether it was scooters as a child or motorcycles in adulthood, Joseph was happiest with wheels beneath him. One of the most familiar sights was Joseph on the corner of Warrington, in front of his mother’s house, working on passion projects, there, he quickly earned the title of “The Mechanic”.
Joseph was known and adored by many. From New York to Rhode Island, he expanded his family nationwide. You could often catch him on his motorcycle, waving you down as he passed by.
Above all else, Joseph loved his family endlessly. To his siblings, as the oldest, he was a protector and the loudest laugh in the room. To his parents, he was their pride and joy. Despite being their greatest headache at times, Joseph was loved beyond his understanding. To his friends, he was Joey, a light that shined through the darkest times. Whether he was cracking jokes, riding, laughing, or simply spending quality time with those he loved. Joseph had a way of making people feel alive.
Joseph leaves behind countless cherished family members and friends who became family, all of whom will hold tightly to the memories and love he gave so freely.
His absence leaves a silence that cannot be filled. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Wednesday, May 27, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. His funeral will be private.
*John 16:22 – “So with you: now is your time of grief, but I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy!”
