Joan Marie (Walsh) Ellis, 71, of Belmont Rd., Cranston, passed away surrounded by her family at home early Wednesday morning, January 11, 2023. She was the wife of George E. Ellis.
Born March 16, 1951, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Frederick L. Walsh, Jr. and the late Charlotte (Wentworth) Walsh.
Joan enjoyed spending time with her family, loved the beach, and traveling to Cape Cod.
In addition to her loving husband of 50 years, she leaves her twin sons, Adam E. Ellis and Aaron J. (Amy) Ellis; her daughter, Betsy M. Ellis; her cherished grandchildren, Brianna (Justin), Caitlyn, James, Jack, Starsha, Andrew, Violet and Deric; and her adored great grandchildren, Karsyn and Layne.
She was the sister of Susan (Carlo) Russo, John “Jack” (Fran) Walsh and Frederick “Rick” (Colette) Walsh.
Her funeral will begin Saturday, Jan. 14, at 8:45am from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Matthew’s Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will take place Friday, from 4pm until 7pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
