Obituary

Jean Daras, 86, of Cranston, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 22, 2021. Jean was the beloved wife of the late Steve Daras. Born in Sykea, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Constantine Marses and Ekaterini (Stappas) Marses.

She was a long-time member of the Church of the Annunciation and loved volunteering, especially at events like the festival and Christmas bazaar. She loved to keep busy by tending to her vegetable garden and cooking delicious meals for her family. While she was a great cook, she was known for her baking- always giving out Greek pastries around the holidays. She was incredibly social, she loved going out to lunch and shopping with family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Maria Yeostros and her husband Louis, and Katherine Damaskos and her husband Steve. She is also survived by her five grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was the youngest of eight children, the sister of the late Georgia Tesseris, Anthoula Kontostathakos, Panayiota Papadakis, John Marsis, Stamatiki Agadakos, Helen Kripotos, and Steve Marses. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She will be missed dearly, but will fondly be remembered for her vibrant and outgoing personality.
