James A. Vose, Sr. Born to Arthur and Anastasia Vose in Brockton, MA on October 22, 1926. Jim attended Brockton High School when he was drafted into the Army where he served at Ft. Knox before being shipped to the Philippines. He was in the Quarter Master Company where he reached the rank as 1st Sargent. Jim came to Providence to visit his sister where he met the love of his life, wife Mary, in 1958. They married in 1959 for 47 beautiful years. They had 3 handsome sons Jim Jr.(Joann), Andy (Donna), and Dean (Christina). Then three beautiful grandchildren Andrew, Alex, and Maria. Jim and Mary owned Sparky’s Restaurant, Park Grille in Cranston, and Dino’s Restaurant in Cranston. After Jim retired, he managed the Alumni Café at Providence College for 10 years. He was a member of the Annunciation Orthodox Church in Cranston. Jim enjoyed Saturday lunches with his grandchildren, golfing in the morning, and doing repairs around the house and pool. He will be sorely missed by all. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 29 at 10:15 AM from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oakland Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow at North Burial Ground, Providence. Visitation Wednesday morning 8:30 – 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Memory Fund of the Church or Hope Hospice and Palliative Care RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence RI 02904-9826.
