James “Jimmy” Kripotos, 88, of Reservoir Ave., Providence, passed away on November 21, 2025 at Orchard View Manor. He was the husband of the late Helen (Marsis) Kripotos.
Born in Pakia, Lakonia, Greece, he was the son of the late Panagiotis and Maria (Prahali) Kripotos. He immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1965 where he married Helen, and later moved his family to Rhode Island. Jimmy worked at various restaurants, the last being Harry’s New York System on Elmwood Ave. in Providence where he worked for several years.
He was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cranston. Jimmy had a unique sense of humor and was a constant source of laughter at family gatherings. The staff at Orchard View Manor called him the joy of his unit.
Jimmy was the devoted father of the late Maria Kripotos, who was born with cerebral palsy. He was her sole caregiver for twenty years after her mother had passed away. He is survived by his brother Antonis Kripotos and his wife Katina of Pakia, Greece. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours are on Tuesday, November 25, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
