Obituary
Herta B. (Schildbach) Macaruso, 84, passed away peacefully at home May 16, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Joseph M. Macaruso for 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Wenzel and Berta Schildbach.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Kris R. Marotti and her husband Anthony T. Marotti, Jr. of Lincoln, RI, daughter Gina Macaruso Lineberger and her husband Charles Lineberger of Floral City, FL and her brothers Helmut Schildbach and Siegfrid Schildbach.
Herta lived a remarkable life. Born in Czechoslovakia in 1939, she experienced the extreme hardships and uncertainty of WWII. The end of the war saw her family displaced to West Germany. While the first few years in their new home presented a continuation of hardships, it is also where she blossomed into the amazing woman we knew and loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday, May 26 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, with a funeral service at the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 245 Waterman St #306, Providence, RI 02906.
