Grace Iacobucci Obituary

Grace (Crisci) Iacobucci of Cranston passed peacefully on the morning of March 24, 2023 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law where she lived in her final days. Her loving family all tenderly cared for her until the end.

In her 89 years on earth, Gracie simply enjoyed life. She openly shared her gifts of strength and brilliance and her ability to lead and guide with care. Grace was a woman who effortlessly accepted the differences in others. She served as a beacon, role model and inspiration simply by being her most authentic self. She will forever be a treasured friend.

Grace was the loving and beloved wife of the late James Iacobucci for 63 wonderful years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by four children: Mary Deady and husband Thomas, Anne Iacobucci Lee and husband Robert, Gina Paola and husband Theodore, Robert Iacobucci and wife Jeanne. She is also survived by thirteen cherished grandchildren: Kimberly Pesaturo, Erin Phillips, Jenna Cerrito, Vincent Lee, David Lee, Mandi Paola, Randi Milewski, Jamie Tappe, Theodore Paola, Jessica Iacobucci, Lauren Iacobucci, Rachel Iacobucci and Robert Iacobucci. Jr., and five cherished great-grandchildren; Ella Thompson, Emma Pesaturo, Henry Pesaturo, Jacob Cerrito and Logan Milewski.

Grace was born in the village of Lyons, NY, the daughter of the late Luzio Crisci and Mary DeVito. She was the youngest child and she dearly loved her older siblings and their families. She is predeceased by her brothers, John, Frank, Nicholas, Anthony, and her sister, Rosemary. Grace had a blessed childhood. She graduated from Lyons School where she was a member of the school cheer squad.

Grace met her husband James while he was stationed at Sampson Air Force base in upstate NY. They were married in 1955 and made their home in Cranston, RI. Grace grew to have a deep love for her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jennie and James Iacobucci Sr., her late young brother-in-law Robert, and her sisters-in-law Marie and Barbara and their families.

Grace and James raised their own happy family in Cranston. Their home was always filled with life, love and family adventure. The family dinner table was the focal point where Grace would relish in her family life. Her home and her kitchen were filled with love, warmth and acceptance. All who knew her knew of her love of a good time, socializing with friends of all ages and having her family around her.

As their children grew, Grace and James fully embraced their time with each other. They enjoyed cooking together, traveling, socializing and going out to dinner and the casinos.

Grace was a professional and family cook. She was employed as a Head Cook in the Cranston School Lunch program for over 20 years and employed by the Cranston YMCA for another 20 years. Both work communities provided a thriving environment for Grace’s gifts to shine. Among these gifts were her strength and intelligence, her compassion, joy, friendship and purposeful interactions with people of every age.

Her granddaughter’s message encompasses the sentiment of what Grace brought to the world; “RIP to the best grandmother a girl could ask for. Half of everything I know comes from this woman. You made my life special, even at the hardest times. I will forever carry the lessons and strength you showed me as a women and person. You will be missed but we will see you on the other side.”
