Gilda Wilkicki Obituary

Gilda (Tessitore) Wilkicki, 98, formerly of Waterman Ave., Cranston, passed away peacefully Monday, December 20, 2021, at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Wilkicki.

Born December 15, 1923, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Virgilio and Catherine (Cataldo) Tessitore and the stepdaughter of the late Mary (DiMaio) Tessitore.

Gilda worked for many years in a printing company before retiring and later did volunteer work.

She is survived by her children, Catherine Nesbit, Helen Marrapese and her husband Vincent, and Charles Wilkicki and his wife Susan; her grandchildren, Michele Bent, Melissa Marrapese, Eric Wilkicki and James McAssey and great-grandchildren,  her sister, Virginia “Ginger” Caccia; and her nieces and nephews, who visited regularly and who she loved very much. She was also the sister of the late Alfred Tessitore, Fernando Tessitore and Elena Forchione.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 23, at 10am in St. Matthews Church, Cranston, with burial following at St. Ann Cemetery. Her family respectfully requests face masks be worn. Calling hours are omitted.
