Gaetano "Sonny" "Guy" Faraone

Gaetano “Sonny” “Guy” Faraone, 91, of Cranston, passed away November 26, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie N. (Tronni) Faraone for 66 years.

Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Felice and Ida (Corona) Faraone.

He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, having served in Africa during the Korean War. He served in the military for forty years in the US Air Force and RI Air National Guard. Gaetano was a Prisoner of War in Berlin. He also served on the City of Cranston Fire Department for ten years.

Gaetano is survived by his two sons Philip Faraone and wife Deborah, Louis Faraone and wife Judith, his daughter Dr. Norma Ann Faraone – Ledgard Ph.D. and husband Dr. Kenneth Ledgard DDS. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gaetano William Faraone and his fiancée Angelica Hicks, Norma Ann Frances Goyette, and her husband Nicholas, and his great-granddaughter Madeline Marie Goyette. Sonny was predeceased by his sisters Anna Menna and Mary Caldarola. He was a faithful Roman Catholic and a Parishioner at the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30 at 8:45 AM from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in The Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Tuesday, November 29, 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence, RI 02903.
