Frederick C. Meinel

Frederick C. Meinel, 68, of Coventry passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Kent Hospital. Born May 14, 1954, in Providence, he was a son of the late Frederick and Muriel (Budlong) Meinel.

He was the father of Leah (Meinel) Morton, her husband Antoinus Morton, Lindsay Meinel, and the late Laura Meinel; and the grandfather to Alexander and Elijah Meinel, Cain and Luca Morton and Gracie Pimentel.

He was the brother to Gary, the late Stephen and Donnie Meinel. He also leaves behind his former wife, Martha (Canavan) Carlson, many cousins, and nieces and nephews. Alongside family, he had a small group of lifelong friends who he cherished dearly.

Frederick grew up in Cranston, RI. He owned his own construction company for many years, he was a carpenter by trade. 

Frederick appreciated the simplicity life offered. He enjoyed great music, talented artists, unique architecture, history, and good craftsmanship. He was great at telling jokes and had a nickname for just about all that were close to him. He will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours Friday, January 27, from 4pm until 7pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
