Everett C. Sammartino Esq., 93, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, March 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Madeline A. (Catanzaro) Sammartino.
Born in Providence, Everett was a son of the late Pasquale and Giovanna (Paolisso) Sammartino.
Everett and Madeline met while studying at Brown University. He was a graduate of Brown University and Boston University School of Law. He worked for the US Attorney Office for 30 years and as a Magistrate for the RI Family Court. He was also a Law Professor at Roger Williams University.
Church was important to him; Everett was active parishioner at St. Mark’s Church in Cranston.
He loved to spend his free time at the beach, whether it was fishing, boating or simply relaxing on the shore.
Most of all, Everett enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Everett helped everyone he knew selflessly.
Everett is survived by his children, Everett Jr., Michael (Katherine), Ann Marie Sammartino and Pamela Barber. He was the grandfather of Michael (Jennifer) Sammartino, Amy Sammartino, Emily (Krystin) Sammartino, and Nicholas Sammartino. Everett was predeceased by his siblings, Louis, Alfred, and Elizabeth Sammartino. He was also the father-in-law of the late Randy Barber.
His funeral will be held at 9:45am Friday, April 4, from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mark Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home.
