Evelyn Morris Obituary

Evelyn E. (Hunt) Morris, 91, of Cranston, passed away on April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard R. Morris and the devoted mother of the late Kenneth R. Morris.

Born August 19, 1934, in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Vivian (Rounds) Hunt. Evelyn grew up in Cranston and attended Cranston High School.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who cared deeply for everyone around her. Evelyn had a special way of making people feel welcome—there was always a place for you at her table and in her heart. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Evelyn was known for her caring nature and her willingness to be there for others. She was a Den Mother with Pack 11 Cub Scouts, where her husband, Richard, served as Pack Master, and she was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Whether through her involvement in the community or in the simple, everyday ways she showed up for family and friends, she was loved by everyone she met and had a gift for touching people’s hearts.

She is survived by her loving children: Debra E. Knowles; Wayne R. Morris (Suzan Morris); Karen A. Lemos (Steven M. Lemos); Kathleen M. Ethier (Mac Kelso); and Barbara J. Ray (Allen J. Ray); her grandchildren: Jason Place (Stephanie Place); Tarah Reilly (James Reilly); Megan Knowles; Christopher Knowles (Brandi Von Buettner); Lindsay D. D’Abate (Joshua D’Abate); Patricia Morris Cirelli (Frank Cirelli); Jamie Goss; Jennifer L. Perry (William Perry); Joshua R. Ethier (Michaela Ethier); Steven Lemos; Courtney A. Fratelli (Steven Fratelli); Casey Morris (Tara Penman); Andrew Morris; Monica Ray (Tyler Hollar); and Jillian Morris; and her great-grandchildren: Hailee Reilly; Nathan Reilly; Landon Cirelli; Paige Cirelli; Kalem Knowles; Madelina Cirelli; Ian Place; Alexander P. D’Abate; David Rainville; Emmalynn Rainville; Rhiannon Place; Jordan S. D’Abate; Matthew S. Fratelli; Andrew C. Fratelli; and Vanessa Morris.

She is also survived by her loving sisters, Edna I. Willis and Arlene L. Papa.

Evelyn is also lovingly remembered by her niece, Debra Place, who was like a daughter to her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard R. Morris; her son, Kenneth R. Morris; and her longtime companion, Raymond J. Hebert, Jr.

Evelyn will be remembered for her strength, her compassion, and the way she brought people together. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
