Elizabeth A. (Cipolla) Salzillo, 88, of Cranston, a portraitist and published author, died August 20, 2025. She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Salzillo and the daughter of the late Peter and Angela (Cicerchia) Cipolla.
A graduate of Katharine Gibbs and RISD, she held positions at Revere Copper and Brass Co., IBM, MIT, and US Dept of Commerce/NOAA. She served as Planning and Marketing for HCA Notre Dame Hospital. She was Director and Corporate Secretary of Dexter Credit Union, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Prout School, Wakefield. With her husband she co-founded Narragansett Asset Management Co.; was the owner of the Quahog Shop in Galilee and Rareripes, LLC. She was elected to the St. Thomas More Church Parish Council in Narragansett.
Elizabeth was an Artist Professional member of the Providence Art Club, a Docent at the RISD Museum of Art, a former officer and a member of the League of Women Voters (she asks that we protect the US Constitution), founder member of the Garden City Alliance, and volunteer art teacher at the VA Hospital in Providence.
She was the devoted mother to her son, John Salzillo and his wife Lisa of Swansea, MA, and of her daughter, Rachel Higginbottom and her husband Edward of Salem, NH. She leaves five grandchildren, Rebecca (her husband Karl), Andrew, Joshua, Lauren (her husband James), and Ryan and also leaves her great grandson, Hayden.
She was the sister of Clare O’Brien, Mariann Lorray, Jane Salzillo, Peter Cipolla, the late Evelyn Palombo and the late Orietta McPhillips.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christion Burial, Tuesday, August 26, at 10am in St. Mark’s Church, Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will be private. Visitation is respectfully omitted.
