Eliane Dominique

Eliane Dominique, 92, of Haverstraw, NY, formerly of Cranston, RI, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 17, 2026, at home in New York.

Born April 8, 1933, in Bainet, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Belony and Adrienne (Petiote) François.

Eliane was a hardworking and independent woman. She was the owner and operator of her own small business in Haiti. Eliane was dedicated in all aspects of her life, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand and support anyone in need.

Eliane is survived by her children: Marie Magali Joseph and her husband Phedre Joseph, Jean-Mario François, and Marjorie François Samedy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Naïka Joseph, Reghinald Joseph, Milaglo François, her beloved caregiver and daughter-in-law Sinta François, McEnroe Dominique, Yvelaure Dominique (and her husband Wesnel Jean-Gilles), Ralph François, Deborah Samedy, Giovanni Samedy, as well as great-grandchildren Rood Tingue, Dawinsley Jean-Gilles, Dawinshina Jean-Gilles, Jayden Dominique, Prince Dominique, and Aiden Darthagnan. Eliane is survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, Anel Claisainvil, Vilra Claisainvil, Marie Junette Petit, Marie Houdy, Wakine Claisainvil, Seltana Claisainvil, Monda Duvelsaint, Alexandra Duvelsaint, Miguerland Duvelsaint, Alix Duvelsaint, Appy Duvelsaint, Gilbert Petit, Fabiola Claisainvil, Dalucson Claisainvil, and Fayoo Claisainvil. In addition, she is survived by cousins Magincia Petiote (and family), Sandy Petiote (and family), and Roselene Noel (and family).

Her visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Her funeral will be held at 8:30 AM on Friday, January 30, in the Funeral Home, with a funeral service to begin at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
