Edward D. Paolozzi

Edward D. Paolozzi, 84 of Warwick, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, at home…the home in which he was born and the place he loved living his whole life. Born Aug. 22, 1941, he was the son of the late Benedetto and Helen (Sousa) Paolozzi, the brother of the late Walter “Benny” Paolozzi, Robert Paolozzi, Milton Paolozzi and Margaret H. Bonaccorsi, and uncle of the late Walter Paolozzi Jr.

He graduated from the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and then forged his way into a successful career as a Commercial Artist and had a long career at Paramount Greeting Cards in Pawtucket, RI.  His passion was design and creating art pieces of all genres, although he had a special interest in abstract art.  

Edward, like so many young men of his generation, served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Army National Guard of Rhode Island of the 101 Signal Division when his unit was called up for active duty. He served his country proudly through a very difficult war and time in the country.   

His hobby was searching for and collecting artistic pieces and paintings.   All his family enjoyed having his artistic view and skills helping them to design and decorate their homes, and he loved helping them as well. Ed’s sense of humor, creative flair, attention to detail, and his artistic talents will be greatly missed. Edward always loved being with his nieces and nephews. 

He leaves behind his dearest and closest friend of more than 60 years, Thomas R. Russo, and his nieces and nephews, Robert Paolozzi Jr., Peter Paolozzi, Kathleen DiTata, Patrick Paolozzi, Patricia Brodeur, Carol Theberge, Milton Paolozzi, Michael Paolozzi, David P. Bonaccorsi, Kathleen B. Conlin, and Debra E. Gamache. He also leaves his kitties, Sammie and Tootsie.

 A private funeral service was held at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home with military honors and burial following at St. Ann Cemetery.
