Dorothy Louise Carbone passed away on Monday, March 27th, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Carbone.
Born in East Providence she was the daughter of the late Matthew J and Louise (Dufresne) Clancy Sr. She resided in Cranston for over 50 years, previously residing in Providence.
Dorothy was a crossing guard for the city of Providence for nine years. She also dabbled in costume jewelry for J&K Creations. Until her retirement Dorothy was a supervisor at Industrial National Bank AKA Fleet Bank. Dorothy always had energy and desired to work. Following her retirement, she returned to work for the city of Cranston school department working in the lunchroom. Dot was everyone’s Nana, joking, laughing and always making sure no one went hungry.
She was feisty, kind, full of vim and vigor, loved to laugh and tell stories. Dottie was a member of UCT and in a bowling league for many years. Dottie loved to travel, but her favorite was spending time with family and friends. Dottie was passionate about gardening, canning, baking/cooking, sewing, crocheting and her dogs.
Dottie was blessed with 12 grandchildren whom she adored and they adored her back. Between taking them on adventures, having them over to her pool and making them costumes she doted over all of them. Her legacy, if you were special, was customizing a special blanket made from nana with love. She was always so involved with all of their events whether it be sports, plays or graduations. She was so proud of all of them.
Dorothy is survived by her devoted sons, Bernard Carbone (Andrea), Robert Carbone (Ann Marie), Frank Carbone, Joseph Carbone (Michele) also mother-in-law to Linda R Carbone.
Besides her sons she is survived by her adoring grandchildren Michael, Robbi, Samantha, Dionna Mansolillo (Matthew), Danielle, Robert (Taylor), Domenic, Jaclyn Augustine (Jon), Anthony, Al, Brittany, Chelsea (Ronnie).
