Domenico A. “Domenic” Tortolano, 74, passed away September 12, 2020 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Sally) A. (Titherington) Tortolano for 53 years. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Domenico and Concetta (Cerullo) Tortolano. Domenic was a graduate of Johnston High School and was an active member of the Army National Guard, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was an accomplished and well-respected businessman in the RI jewelry manufacturing industry as the former owner of Chain Reaction, Inc. and D. Gioielli, Inc. Most recently he was the operator and manager of the Theatre Tap in Pawtucket. He was a proud member of the Italo American Club of RI.
Domenic was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a humble, big-hearted, peacemaking, supportive man whose greatest accomplishment was his family. As such, his greatest joy was to attend any activities for his grandchildren, whom he adored.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Deana Filippelli (Louis), Lori Edwards (Susan), Brian Tortolano (Aimee), his sister Sandra DiChiaro (Bob); his grandchildren Jenna Filippelli, Chase and Cole Edwards, Cristina, Domenic and Elisabeth Tortolano and Devin Cormier.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. VISITATION Friday from 4-7 p.m. Face coverings must be worn and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Domenic’s favorite charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and The Tomorrow Fund.
