Dolores (DiMeo) Burns, 80, of Providence passed away at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of William F. Burns. They were married for 54 years.
Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Amelia (Petrecca) DiMeo and the late Alice (Buttiglieri) DiMeo.
Dolores was the loving mother of Donna Tucciarone and her husband Tom; Joseph Burns and his wife Lynn; and Raymond Burns and his wife Judy; cherished grandmother of Daniel, Sarah, Harrison, and Ronan. Dolores was the sister of Raymond DiMeo and sister-in-law of Loretta Burns-Hebert and Janice DiMeo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with cherished friends.
Dolores was a retail clerk at CVS for 27 years. Prior to that, she had also worked at the former BIF and City Hall Store.
Dolores’ greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved doting on her husband, caring for her daughter, sons, and their families, always putting their needs before hers. Her face would light up at the mention of her grandchildren; she loved being a Nana.
