David Jordan Obituary

David L. Jordan, 76, of Magnolia St., passed away surrounded by his family, Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Alves) Jordan.

Born Feb. 15, 1948, in Providence, he was a son of the late Howard E. “Hunk” Jordan, Jr. and Agnes (Keenen) Jordan.

David proudly served with the US Army in the Demobilized Zone in Vietnam.

He was a man who wore many hats. After returning home from the Army, he opened his own Real Estate Company.  Later, he became the owner of houses in Providence. He maintained and rehabilitated them for many years. He also ran a gas station, convenience store and liquor store for 10 years before his retirement.

In addition to his wife of 35 years, he leaves his three children that he adored. His son, David L. Jordan, Jr., of New Orleans, LA; his daughters, Olivia A. Kropf and her husband Pascal of Gilbert, AZ, and Sophia M. Jordan of New York City.

He is also the brother of Arthur J. Jordan of Cranston, Janice Bolenis of West Warwick, the late Howard E. Jordan, III and the late James E. Jordan.

The funeral will be held at 8:45am on Thursday, March 21, from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Matthew’s Church, Cranston. Military honors and burial will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, from 4pm until 7pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to the Tomorrow Fund of Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
