Crescenzo "Christy" Bevilacqua, 85, of Johnston, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 16, 2026, at RI Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Thurber) Bevilacqua.
Born January 25, 1941, in Providence, he was a son of the late John Bevilacqua, Sr. and the late Mary (Regine) Bevilacqua.
Christy was a dedicated worker who spent 25 years with Leesona Corporation. Outside of his career, he had a love for the little things that made life meaningful such as cheering on the Yankees, listening to oldies music, and relaxing with a Dunkin' Donuts coffee. He enjoyed playing cards, trying his luck with scratch-off tickets and trips to the casino, and unwinding with old Western movies, especially his favorite, Hang 'em High. Christy brought laughter wherever he went and was truly the life of the party.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves his four children and their spouses, Christine (Paul) Paschoal, Michael (Loreen) Bevilacqua, Joanne (Louis) Amitrano and David (Maria) Bevilacqua; his 10 grandchildren, Adriana, Domenic, Jason, David, Anthony, Vincent, Isabella, Alexandria, Chloe and Prudence; and his great grandson, Roman.
He was also the brother of Richard Bevilacqua and of the late Caesar, Robert, John and Edward Bevilacqua and Maria Nannarone.
He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, from 4pm until 7pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. His funeral will begin at 8:45am Saturday, April 25, at the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Cross Church, Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Memorial donations are greatly appreciated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
