Christina DelGigante Obituary

Christina N. (Morenzi) DelGigante , 91, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday February 5, 2020 she was formerly of North Palm Beach, Florida and Cranston.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Philomena (DiPetrillo) Morenzi. She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Robert J. DelGigante (Ret. Lt. CFD).  Beloved mother of Sheila A. Amaral (Anthony. Jr.) of East Providence and Valerie J. Morgan (Emory) "Larry" of West Warwick and the late Eric M. DelGigante. She was the mother-in-law of Aimee DelGigante. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey, Anthony III, Jillian, Deanna and Molly and loving great-grandmother of Romeo and Arielle. She was the sister of Thomas Morenzi and the late Joseph, Thomas, Sylvester and Mary Morenzi.

Christina was a cashier for the former Star Market and Almacs Supermarkets for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post, Cranston. Christina with her late husband, was active in the Cranston Firefighters fundraisers and activities, as well in veteran’s events. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her funeral is Monday at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m.in  St. Mary Church, Cranston. Interment will follow at RI Veterans Cemetery.
