Celia “Peachy” A. McHugh, 94, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at Alpine Nursing Home, Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald “Ducky” J. McHugh, they had been happily married for 71 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ana (Ryan) Davidson.
Celia was a medical transcriptionist at RI and Kent Hospitals for 25 years.
Despite suffering from Polio at an early age she was determined to live a long and full life. She never let her disability affect her or her family. Peachy was an antique enthusiast, an avid collector, and a history buff. She was a die-hard Elvis fan and knew everything about John F. Kennedy.
Family was the most important thing to her. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Peachy is survived by her Children Lindelle Jones and Lori Guthrie and husband Scott. She was the beloved grandmother of Brad Jones, Sarah Gilkenson, Erin and Seyward Guthrie. Great grandmother of Liam Guthrie and Avery Gilkenson. She was predeceased by her son Michael McHugh, grandson Kyle Jones, and her sisters Bernadette “Bunny” Shippe and Dorothy “Dot” LaPointe.
Celia’s services will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to, the Post Polio Health International Fund.
