It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Hopkins (Ouimette), who left us on July 4, 2025. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was a lifelong resident of Cranston and the cherished daughter of the late Alvin A. and Helen J. (Morrissey) Ouimette.
Carol was the former wife of the late Charles F. Hopkins and a proud mother to Anthony Botelho, Carol Botelho-Salamone, and Charlene F. Hopkins. She found immeasurable joy in being a loving Grama to Ariana and Sonia Salamone, as well as Karrina and Maranda Botelho. Her heart warmed as a great-grandmother to Luca, and the newest addition, beautiful baby Emilia.
In addition to her immediate family, Carol was a loving sister to her late siblings: Alvin, William, Gerard, John, and Frederick Ouimette, as well as Frances Parsons, Helen Hardy, and Annmarie Oatley. She leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews, along with close friends who cherished her companionship.
Carol had a deep passion for antiquing and restoring antiques, and she was the former owner of C & C Antiques. Her knowledge and love for vintage treasures brought joy not only to her life but also to those around her, as she enthusiastically shared her findings and stories.
Carol’s spirit was a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering love for her family and friends will continue to resonate in their hearts. Her kindness, warmth, and compassion will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Carol had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her warmth drew people to her, creating an inviting atmosphere for family and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was a listening ear or actively assisting with tasks.
With a keen eye for detail and an unmatched knack for creativity, Carol embraced any project that came her way, never shying away from a challenge. Whether it was restoring a cherished antique, starting a new craft, or offering her skills to help others, she approached everything with enthusiasm and fearlessness. Carol's adventurous spirit and determination inspired those around her and left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her VISITATION on Friday July 11th from 8:30-10:15 AM at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston.
