Obituary

Carol Ann (Greene) DeLucia, 80, of East Greenwich, passed away April 1, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Bruce E. DeLucia.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Finneran) Greene, Jr.

Carol grew up in New Haven, CT and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. She attended Smith College and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. For many years she was a copywriter for tv stations, newspapers, the Federated Group, Shepard’s, and Gladding’s. Carol was an avid reader and gardener. In her yard, she created almost park-like gardens, and she rarely met a book (or antique store) that she didn’t like. She loved traveling; Her most favorite places were New Mexico (where she had lived for many years) and London.

She is survived by her cherished daughter, Stephanie C. DeLucia. She also leaves behind her brother John “Jack” Greene, III, her brother-in-law Stephen Sardelli, her wonderful nieces Nikkie Sardelli (Christopher), Melanie Tsolas (Jason), Jeanna Hartman (Corey) and Jennifer Morenzi (Douglas), her great niece Taylor and great nephew Cayden, and her beloved cousins, who she thought of as her sisters, Norma “Sandy” Fox, Charlene Heintz and Christine Harkins. She was also the mother of the late Jon A. DeLucia, sister of the late Donald E. Greene and sister-in-law of the late Lorie A. Sardelli.

The family would like to thank the fantastic home care team that cared for Carol, and the amazing staff at Briarcliffe Gardens and Continuum Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 10, at 11:00 AM in St. Mark’s Church, Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will be private. Visitation is respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Wildlife Rehabilitators Association of Rhode Island, Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island, 2865 Tower Hill Road, Saunderstown, RI 02874.An organization that was very close to Carol’s heart.
