Carmella T. (Lobris) Abbood, 88, of Cranston, formerly of Providence, passed away at home, March 14, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Sam B. Abbood.
Born Aug. 5, 1933, in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Katherine (Abraham) Lobris.
Carmella was a receptionist for over 35 years at Butler Hospital. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and church Choir of St. George Maronite Church. She and her husband were awarded the Massabki Award for their characteristics of their true Christian values. Carmella and Sam travelled extensively including visiting family in Australia and Lebanon.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she leaves her 3 children and their spouses, Michael and Teresa Abbood, Karen Abbood and Susanne Frament, and Kathy and Michael Cote; her grandchildren, Emily Abbood McCaffrey and Thomas Abbood, who she adored; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Bernie DiLullo.
The Abbood family would like to thank Carmella's care providers including Beacon Hospice and her private caregivers, especially Chloe and Linda.
Visitation will take place Friday morning from 8:30am until 10am at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by the Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. The family requests face masks be worn.
