Carmela Spicola, 105, passed away peacefully Friday October 29, 2021 at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine (DeScenzo) D’Onofrio. She was the wife of the late John L. Spicola.
Carmela is survived by one daughter, Camille Spicola and one son, John A. Spicola and wife Muriel, one granddaughter, Shannon Spicola and one great-grandson Keegan Sturman. She was the sister of Anna Tessitore, Frances DeAngelis and the late Mary McNamee, Domenica “Minnie” Colarusso and Felecia “Florence” Saraceno. She was pre-deceased by her grandson Scott Spicola. Carmela also leaves nieces and nephews.
Carmela was a loving and caring person, dedicated to her family and loved by all.

Her funeral and visitation will be held Thursday from 8:45-10:15 a.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rhode Island Food Bank 200 Niantic Avenue Providence, RI 02907.
