Bridget Blais Obituary

Bridget Blais, 77, of Cranston, Rhode Island passed away Thursday, June 25 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence after a long illness. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Sormanti Sr. and the late Edith (Shippee) Sormanti. She is predeceased by her husband Francis "Larry" Blais Jr. and her son Paul Blais.

Bridget is survived by her loving children Brenda Shanley of Cranston with whom she made her home and Norma Mikaelian also of Cranston. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Thomas Ritter (Josh Juarez) and Dana Perez (Paul Perez) of Long Beach, California and Sydney and Justin Blais of Johnston. She was the sister of Brenda Russell of Tampa, Florida and the late Alfred "Butch" Sormanti of North Smithfield. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Estes Rodgers and daughters-in-law Marie Acciardo and Donna Blais, who all loved and cared for her for many years. Bridget also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Bridget was devoted to her family, caring for them all since she was young. Smart, funny, determined and introverted, she loved and protected those she loved. We will miss and love her forever. The family would like to thank the staff at Philip Hulitar for their compassion and support, as well as those from Hope Hospice, especially Alyssa. We are thankful and grateful for those who took such good care of her during her illness, especially Aida, Judy, Melissa, Carmen, Michele and Tiffany.
