Bombina (Ritacco) Romano, 90, born in Acri Cosenza, Italy, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Antonio R. Romano.
Bombina was a daughter of the late Mariantonia (Zanfino) and Giuseppe Ritacco. She was also the step-daughter of the late Maria Ritacco.
Bombina is survived by her loving children Angelo Romano and his wife Jacqueline, Christina Ferri and her husband Dr. Fred Ferri. She was the adoring grandmother to Dr. Vito Ferri (Stellina), Dr. Christopher Ferri (Heather), Rachele Romano-Jaworski (Roberto), and Christina Romano. She was a loving great-grandmother to six grandchildren, Sofia, Sonia, Christopher, Vita, Vera, and Federico. She was the sister of Anna Scaramuzzo, Assunta Scaramuzzo, Romilda Ferraro, and Antonio Ritacco.
Bombina worked for the State of Rhode Island for 34 years as a cook's helper. She was truly a helper and a giver to all at work and at home. Whether she was sharing her love of cooking and baking with family and friends or offering food to people in need.
Her thoughtfulness and kindness are a tribute to her faith and love of people.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 27 at 11:00 am in St. Rocco Church,927 Atwood Ave, Johnston. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
