Beverly Barrette Obituary

Beverly Ann Faria Barrette, beloved wife, mother, grandmother ,“Grand Ma Ma”, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at the age of 78. Born and raised in Lincoln, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Cesar Faria and Lillian Goulash. Beverly’s life was marked by quiet strength, generous kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

For over four decades, Beverly dedicated her career to AstroMed (now AstroNova), where she worked from 1981 until her retirement in 2018. Her colleagues remember her as a trusted confidante and dear friend—someone whose compassion, humor, and reliability brightened every workday.  She also worked a second passion job as a travel agent for Travel Etc., helping family and friends plan memorable trips throughout the years.

Outside of work, Beverly’s heart remained deeply tied to her community in West Warwick. She found purpose and fulfillment in supporting the West Warwick Assistance Agency, a cause that reflected her lifelong belief in helping others and caring for her neighbors. She worked tirelessly, right up until the very end, for a cause she felt deeply about.

Beverly delighted in life’s simple joys. She was an avid and gifted knitter, having spent over forty years in her weekly knitting circle (affectionately dubbed the “stitch and bitch”). Each of her pieces carried the love and care she poured into them. She also loved to travel, celebrate life’s milestones, and fill every room with laughter and warmth—always making others feel seen and cherished.

One of Beverly’s proudest accomplishments was building, alongside her husband Joseph, their dream log home—a place filled with love, laughter, and countless family gatherings that will be remembered for generations.

Beverly is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Joseph Barrette, and their two sons, Joshua and partner, Alexandra DaRosa, and Kenneth and wife, Maeyee. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kellen, and her brothers, Tom and Michael. She will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Valerie Turner and her husband, Gary, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Beverly’s life at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, on Sunday, March 29, from 4pm until 7pm. Her funeral will begin at 9:30am Monday, March 30, at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Saints John and Paul Church, Coventry.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  A reception will be held for family and friends at Richards Pub

In lieu of flowers, Beverly wished for donations to be made to the West Warwick Assistance Agency (her final wish to raise as much money as possible for the West Warwick "Cupboard") —a place that truly reflects her generous heart and enduring love for her community.  Please make checks payable to ‘West Warwick Assistance Agency’ with two delivery methods:
