Arlene S. Riccio, 89 of Johnston, passed from this life on July 7, 2025, at the Saint Clare Home in Newport Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Deacon Raymond Riccio.
Born on December 15th, 1935, she was the second child of the late Edward and Teresa Flynn of the Riverside.
Arlene graduated from St. Mary Academy - Bay View in 1953. As a young woman she worked at the telephone company as a switchboard operator. After she married Raymond Riccio on September 8th, 1962, she became a stay at home mother, a daily mass communicant and was dedicated to a life of service accompanying her husband in his ministry as a deacon for years.
Arlene was a faithful Catholic and was active in the Pro-Life movement for decades. Her favorite ministry was assisting her husband at Zambarano hospital with mass and prayer services. She visited with and prayed by the bedside of many patients whom she befriended. She had a deep devotion to Our Lord and Our Lady in the prayers of the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Arlene was predeceased by her loving husband Deacon Raymond Riccio she leaves her beloved daughter Nancy (Kenney) Duska and her son-in-law Matthew Duska of West Greenwich. She was also predeceased by her son Robert Riccio, and her son-in-law David T. Kenney III. Additionally, she leaves behind her four grandchildren David Kenney, Brian Kenney, Kyle Kenney, and Kaitlyn Duska. Three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen Greene, and her husband Alan Greene of Exeter, and was the sister of the late Raymond Flynn of Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her VISITATION on Thursday July 10th from 9:00-10:15 AM at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
