Anthony A. Papa, 65, of Cranston, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Saturday morning, April 6, 2024 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne (Janson) Papa.
Born July 21, 1958, in Providence, he was a son of the late John F. Papa, Jr. and Beatrice M. (Marro) Papa.
Anthony was a practical man who loved his grandchildren and was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, preparing food for his family and friends, and was an avid Patriots and New England Sport’s Fan. Known for his businesses Papa’s Pizza Patrol and Tony Papa’s Restaurant, where he offered a smiling face, an unforgettable laugh, and a shoulder to lean on. He was loving, caring, affectionate, and humble person who would make people laugh and comforted them with his food and a huge heart.
Besides his wife of 44 years, he leaves his two sons, Anthony A. Papa Jr. and his wife Toni, and Michael A. Papa and his wife Sarah; his two grandchildren, Lilly A. Papa and Michael A. Papa, Jr.; his brother, John F. Papa, III; and his sisters, Beatrice Papa and Diane Papa.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday April 11 at 10 am at St. Matthews Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston. Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
