Anthony Flori Obituary

Anthony J. Flori, 54, of West Greenwich, passed away at home Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Born January 9, 1970, in Providence, he was a son of Joanne Rastella and Robert Flori and the stepson of Armand Lancia.

Anthony lived a life of service, dedicating his time and energy to not only his employers (Hurley Construction and Keller Williams Realty) but also to others without a second thought. This was evident through his time as a volunteer for the local fire department and his commitment to providing support to those around him in any way he could, regardless of his own circumstances. Anthony found solace in the simple pleasures of life, soaking in the sun and lounging by the water as long as the weather allowed, and found immense joy in passing down his skills and knowledge to his daughter. From fixing a meal to fixing an old door, he made sure to instill the skills she would need to become the intelligent and compassionate woman he wished for her to grow into. There are few words to describe his infectious smile and even fewer for his unwavering positivity, which undoubtedly helped him in defying the odds of his diagnosis.

In addition to his parents, he leaves his beloved daughter, Alyssa Flori; his sister, Bobbie-Jo (Flori) Strike; his nieces, Shawna DeShaies and Bethany (Flori) Pellegrino; and his great nephew, Xander-Wolf Hilario. Anthony was the nephew of Joseph Rastella, Doreen (Rastella) Sotirakos and the late Earl Rastella. He was loved by several aunts, cousins, and friends.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 9, at 8:30am from the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Augustine’s Church, Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, from 4pm until 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Providence, a charity that Anthony supported.
