Anna M. (Amoroso) Phaneuf, 94, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Phaneuf. They were happily married for 32 years before his passing in 1984. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Loreta (Carnevale) Amoroso.
Anna was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and homemaker, and was a very talented trained seamstress. She loved to sew, do needlework, play cards and Scrabble, make puzzles and bake. Her Christmas cookies were legendary in her family.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Donna M. Phaneuf and Loreta A. Belcher, and was the beloved mother-in-law of Bernie L. Belcher, Sr., all of Warwick. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Amoroso. She was preceded in death by sisters, Filomena Amoroso, Grace Gambardella, and Julia Califano, and brothers Felix, Romeo, Joseph and Victor Amoroso. She also leaves her very special nephew Steve Califano, who was like a son to her.
Her family wishes to thank the entire staff of the West Shore Health Center for the loving care showed to their Mom and to them during her time there.
Her funeral will begin at 8:45am Monday, Oct. 23, at the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Kevin's Church, Warwick. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, from 2pm until 4pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home.
