Ann Marie (Mowry) Macchioni, 81, of Warwick, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Almon and Julia (Ruberto) Mowry.
Ann worked at the Warwick Beacon and was a business owner who taught ceramic classes in Warwick before moving to West Greenwich. After she closed her shop, Ann worked at Foxwoods Casino and Edwards Supermarket to help support her family. Once her children left home, she moved to Middletown to be closer to her granddaughter, Samantha. Ann spent 25 years living at Forest Farms where she served as President of the resident council. She was the voice of her friends and fellow seniors who couldn’t speak for themselves.
Ann loved her children and grandchildren dearly and took great pride in them. She lit up whenever they visited and made sure to call often and send cards for every occasion and milestone. Her daughter, Michele, was her caretaker for the last several years and was so happy to have that time with her. She especially loved having her dogs by her side to help lift her spirits during her illness.
Ann was a loving, kind and compassionate lady who always made those around her feel special. She loved to laugh, loved her family, and will be greatly missed by all.
Ann is survived by her three children, Michele Baker and her husband Michael of Warwick, with whom she lived, David Macchioni and his wife Grace of Coventry, and Patricia Carberry of Massachusetts; cherished grandchildren, Samantha Carberry and Nicholas and Dominic Macchioni. She also leaves behind her nephew, Michael Macchioni.
Her funeral will be held at 9am, Tuesday, July 8, at the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be take place Monday, July 7, from 4pm until 7pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home.
