Anita (Cerri) Ferla, of Narragansett Bay Avenue, Warwick Neck, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and her 24-hour home care team, on January 7, 2025. She was the wife of the late Conrad Ferla Sr., the mother of the late Conrad Jr. and the late Alan Robert Ferla.
Born in Milan, Italy, she was the only child of Piero Cerri and Sina Valentini. She lived in Italy before moving to Warwick.
She was educated in the private College of the “Mother of the Infant Mary”, where she earned her teaching degree. She was a student at Milan’s “Brera Fine Arts College” and a pupil of the well-recognized Italian Painter Fioravante Arioli. At age 15 she received a very favorable review at her first “One Man Show” at Fioravante Gallery. She was an avid amateur tennis player.
Besides her grandchildren, Carissa, Alan R. (his wife Megan) and Conrad (his wife Brittany), she leaves her great grandchildren Xavier, Dominic, Damian, Natalia, and Maddox. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Paula Ferla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 2pm until 5pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, and to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Jan. 20, at 10am in St. Kevin’s Church, Warwick. (Please go directly to church Monday morning.) Burial will be private.
