Anahid Karentz Varadian of Cranston passed away Sunday December 19, 2021 at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of the late Haig Varadian, sister of Varoujan Karentz, and the mother of Paul (Vartus), Diana, and Christine (David). She is the grandmother of Sonig, Nevart, Andre, Erik, Aleksanderand Kristian.
Anahid graduated from Cranston High School and went on to receive a degree from Bryant
College. She worked for Columbia Records, US Rubber Company, the Cranston YMCA, and for 22 years was the assistant to the director of TF Green Airport. She dedicated her life to both her family and the Armenian community. From a young age she was a member of the Armenian Youth Federation serving in senior positions. Her numerous years as an international executive member of the Armenian Relief Society (Red Cross) involved providing humanitarian assistance to Armenians all over the world. She participated in both local and national Armenian choral societies. Among her many interests, she served as President of the Garden Club, was a passionate traveler, avid skier, sports enthusiast and enjoyed needle work.
She will be dearly missed by her family, Armenian community, and friends.

Visitation hours are Wednesday from 10–11 am followed by the funeral service at 11 am in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI, 02909. Burial services are private. Masks are required.
