Alberta Sciolto Obituary

Alberta Sciolto, 86, of West Warwick passed away at Robert’s Health Center, May 10, 2020. She was the wife of the late Vincent Sciolto Jr.

Born in Providence, RI she was the daughter of the late William and Frances (Raymond) Brown. She is survived by her children; Vincent Sciolto, Frances Ferrara, Joanna Gendron, Elizabeth Duffy and Lisa Fournier, and she was the mother of the late Carol Ann Sciolto. She is also survived by her sister Myrtle Barnhart, her brother-in-law Santo Sciolto, many nieces, nephews, 12 grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren.

Alberta was a third shift worker for GTE American Safety. She was also a homemaker, active parent in PTO’s of both Manton Avenue Elementary and Meeting Street School, and assistant Girl Scout Leader, as well as participating in the Cub Scouts special projects. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church, West Warwick. Alberta enjoyed traveling, she later became a member and treasurer of the senior group at Monsignor De Angelis Manor.

She enjoyed her family, friendships; while she welcomed the warmth of Melbourne, Florida in the winters for several years in good health.

Her funeral and burial are private due to current health protocol. A celebration of life with be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 20 Hemingway Drive Riverside, RI 02915 and the Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway Smithfield, RI 02917.
