Alan Louis Pagliarini, 71, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward and Louise (Martinelli) Pagliarini.
Alan worked his entire life with his hands, always helping others. Whether it was as a young man working at the Holiday Inn in South Kingstown, over 30 years working at his family’s business, Warwick Nurseries in Cranston, or later in life working as a Hotel Engineer for Marriott Bonvoy in Eagle River, AK and The Renaissance Hotel in Providence. He prided himself on his ability to problem solve for those he came in contact with. He devoted his life to agriculture and beautifying homes and businesses throughout the Rhode Island area. Alan enjoyed gardening, The University of Rhode Island Basketball, and The New England Patriots. The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was Fourth of July cookouts with his childhood friends, going to his children’s sporting events and taking them with him on drives to listen to his favorite music, or just enjoying a holiday meal with his parents, siblings, children, and nieces and nephews, Alan had the ability to use humor and wit to make anyone in his company smile, laugh, and enjoy the moment.
He was the beloved father of Lauren (Devan) Durante and Christopher (Jenny) Pagliarini. Brother of Edward Pagliarini Jr, William, Daniel, Louis, and Cathy Pagliarini, and the late Rosemary Pagliarini. He was a cherished grandfather of Marcella and Miles Durante.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral and visitation from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church, 30 Warwick Ave., Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
To honor Alan’s spirit of selflessness and generosity, the family has requested to kindly omit flowers and instead perform an act of kindness to someone in need or plant a tree in Alan’s memory.
