Afife Hanna Koussa, aged 76, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Lebanon, she was the beloved daughter of the late Hanna and Hanoud (Chaar) Koussa. She was the devoted wife of the late Kannan Tanios El Hachem. Afife was a loving and dedicated mother to eight children: Trad and his wife Zifrin Salem and their family; Fadi and his wife Margo and their family; Tony and his wife Rania Rayfouny and their family; Mansour and his family; Elias and his wife Ketty Eid and their family; Najibe, wife of Tony El Khoury, and their family; Mariam, wife of Kozhaya Awad, and their family; and Thérèse. She was a cherished sister to Afif Koussa and his wife Kadra Maalouf and their family; Georges Koussa and his wife Nejmeh and their family; Tony Koussa and his wife Dina Farah and their family; Josephine Koussa, wife of Lichaa Daou, and their family; Janette Koussa, widow of Tony El Alam, and their family; and Sayde Koussa, widow of Michel Rouhana, and their family. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Koussa, wife of the late Simon El Hachem. Afife also leaves behind her husband’s family: Retired Brigadier General Elias El Hachem and his wife Maha El Hachem and their family; Wadad Matar, widow of Boulos El Hachem, and their family; and the family of the late Youssef El Hachem, and Wadad El Hachem, widow of Youssef Khairallah, and their family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Afife’s wake on Monday, September 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. George Maronite Church, Cranston. Interment will take place at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
