Sandra Brothers Obituary

Brothers, Sandra L. (Petrarca), 77, passed away Saturday August 17, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Sandra resided in Warwick, RI and Pompano Beach Florida.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. Petrarca, Sr. and Mary (Palumbo) Petrarca.  Sandra was the beloved wife of Norman A. Brothers.  She also leaves her daughter Bettina A. Brothers, her son Norman Joseph Brothers and wife Laurie.  She was the grandmother of Gideon M. Brothers, Amber Franklin, and Misty Finnegan and the great grandmother of three.  She was the sister of Marcia J. Hutchings, sister in law of Michael Hutchings and aunt of Chelsea E. Hutchings. She was also the sister of the late Joseph B. Petrarca, Jr.

Sandra was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a cherished grandmother, aunt and sister. She deeply loved her family. A classic elegant beauty, she carried herself with grace, kindness, and bountiful generosity.  Her heart was as big as the sun and her smile was infectious. One would always find comfort and belonging when you entered her home.  She was the soft place to land for all of us, especially during hard times.  Sandra was masterful with flowers and had a flair for decorating and putting things together in just the right way.  Because family and tradition were so important to her, she made sure that every holiday and special occasion was beautiful and memorable.  A gifted cook and baker, she would always have a meal ready for you if she knew you would be stopping by. Even the simplestthings would be transformed into unspeakable beauty at her hands. She took the time to make sure that everyone she loved, knew it, and would always be remembered.   Our relationship with Sandra will endure forever and the love she radiated will forever brighten our days.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial Thursday August 22, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Rocco Church, Atwood Avenue Johnston.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904. Share memories at WoodlawnGattone.com
