Ernest Rathbun Obituary
Mr. Ernest L. Rathbun Sr. 89, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Briarcliff Manor Nursing Home (49 Old Pocasset Road).
He was the beloved husband of the late Marie E. (Gravell) Rathbun. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Ernest and Louise (Gabriel) Rathbun. Ernie, better known as "Sonny" to all who loved him worked for the Diocese of Providence for 11 years before retiring.
Ernie had a passion for NASCAR racing; a passion that was sparked through his past experience as a pro stock race car driver for Seekonk Speedway.
He is survived by his loving son's. Ernest L Rathbun Jr. And his wife Christa of Jamestown and David A. Rathbun and wife Suzanne of Cranston.
One of his greatest loves was spending time with his beautiful grandchildren Alyssa, Alexander, Sarah-Marie, Kaitlyn Marie, Jared, Logan and Wyatt.
He is pre-deceased by his two sisters Shirley and Eva.
Although we feel broken in sorrow today , we know that he lives where he is loved, forever in our hearts.
