Ernest J. Kanelakos

Ernest J. Kanelakos, 90 , of Seekonk, MA. ,passed away peacefully, August 25, 2019, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Aldina “Dina” (Oliver) Kanelakos for 64 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late John and Venetia (Lourpas) Kanelakos.

Mr. Kanelakos was an Assistant District Manager for ITT Financial Corp. before retiring. Ernie was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cranston and served as a long term parish council member. He was also was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was the beloved father of John E. Kanelakos. Brother of  Marie McKenney, Peter J. Kanelakos and the late Constantine Kanelakos, Bertha Pitarchas, Lillian Crowther, Christina Dalby and Catherine Rosaki.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend  his Funeral Service Friday August 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in  North Burial Ground Providence. VISITATION THURSDAY AUGUST  29, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm. in ‘’WOODLAWN’’ Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston.   In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston 02920 or Hellenic College/Holy Cross School of Theology 50 Goddard Ave. Brookline, MA. 02445.
